BLS has posted its schedule through the November 2027 report (out Dec 10, 2027). It can still change.

The moon column is our thing: it shows the real moon phase on each date (at noon UTC). It's there because we like it, not because the moon moves prices.

What CPI is

The Consumer Price Index is the main US inflation number. Every month the Bureau of Labor Statistics measures what a basket of everyday things costs, from rent and groceries to gas and car insurance, and reports how much prices rose. Each report covers the month before, so the October 2026 numbers come out on November 10.

Why crypto watches it

CPI is one of the biggest inputs into what the Fed does with rates. A hotter number than expected makes rate cuts less likely, and crypto often drops on that. A cooler number tends to do the opposite. Because it comes out at 8:30 am ET, before US stock markets open, crypto is often the first market to react, and the first few minutes can be wild.

Can the date move?

Yes, mostly when the government shuts down. During the 2025 funding lapse, BLS never published an October 2025 CPI report at all, and its early-2026 schedules carried a note that dates were subject to change. As of mid-October 2026 the CPI schedule shows no delay notice. If that changes, BLS posts the new date on its schedule page, and we'll update this page and our calendar.
